What is Hivemind global academy?
HiveMind Global Academy (HGA) is the brainchild of HiveMind CEO and Founder David Petroziello, a 25 year international coaching and sport leadership veteran. “Coach P” has traveled throughout the world and worked with athletes, coaches, and organizations at all levels of basketball. The HGA is shaped by these years of experience within the game and will be guided by the values at the core of HiveMind Sports :
HiveMind Global Academy is built to be a center for elite quality basketball development, a stepping stone for prospective professional and collegiate athletes to hone their skills, develop their understanding of the game, and cement their habits within a positive, athlete-centered and transformational environment. HGA’s integrated program includes top level international coaching, professional support systems, challenging playing opportunities to showcase your skills along with professional placement services which integrate career and academic advising expertise with a global network of relationships and opportunities for our athletes to benefit from.
HGA is the basketball finishing school you need to go from where you are to where you want to be.
Who is it for?
The program is designed for athletes generally aged between 18-26, who fall into three main categories :
- Prospective professional athletes who have either completed their college eligibility and are looking to begin or continue their professional careers, or those who have bypassed the college system and are looking for expanded opportunities within the professional leagues in Europe, Asia, Australia, or North America.
- Prospective college athletes who have completed their high school education and are looking for college scholarship opportunities in North America or elsewhere.
- Prospective prep school and CEGEP students who are looking for the best fit to grow their careers.

Competition
Games will be regularly organized in Portugal and Spain against High-Level competition.
The games will be filmed, analyzed as a team, and highlight videos will be created for rapid transmission to coaches in the HiveMind network and beyond.

Welcome to Lisbon, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, a colorful, gentle and welcoming city.
Coming to Lisbon is an incredible Aesthetic and human experience, you’ll pass through narrow streets with ancient houses, colorfully painted walls, unique views over the city, its rooftops and its river, small squares where it is good to live, eat and drink to the sound of a fountain.
You’ll discover the architectural masterpieces, its austere castle and gilded churches, its rich museums and beathtaking parks bear.
The housing: Pousada de Juventude do Lisboa
The Pousada De Juventude Do Lisboa Parque Das Nacoes, completely renovated in 2023, is just a few meters from the main attractions of the eastern part of the city: from the Altice Arena to the Lisbon Oceanarium, the lisbon international fair and the area of bars and restaurants by the Tagus River.
Close by is the Vasco Da Gama Shopping Center, the skate park, the casino, the oriente metro station and countless green spaces for rellerblading, cycling or simply walking!
The youth hostel is part of the Lisbon youth center. It’s just 10 minutes from Lisbon Airport and 15 minutes from the gym.
The gym: Estadio Universitario de Lisboa
The gym is a multi-sport hall with official basketball markings on the central court, and two small basketball courts on the side for individual sessions or positional work.
This is the home court of the university of Lisbon’s basketball teams, which play host to men’s and women’s teams in the U8 – U10, U12 – U14, U16, U18 and seniors categories.

Program fees
Payments can only be made by credit card or bank transfer.
You can pay in full at once, or in two instalments.
- Full payment in one go entitles you to a 15% discount on the HiveTalent option.
- Payment in two instalments is organized as follows: 60% to save your place, and the remaining 40% to validate your registration.
